Dana has been with FS Group Architects since 2010 and serves as one of the principals of the firm. Dana is a senior architect with 35 years of experience. He began his career working for such notable firms as Kendall Heaton Associates, Morris Architects, Harry Golemon Architects, and Kirksey Architecture. His initial contributions to these firms were in his knowledge and skills in setting up computer drafting standards and the subsequent production of construction documents. Over the years his skill set has expanded to include expertise in building codes, consultant coordination, construction administration, and client relations.
Dana’s architectural interests include historic buildings and their preservation. For several years he was the secretary for the Houston/Galveston Chapter of Preservation Texas and helped facilitate many preservation-themed building tours and lectures in and around Houston and Galveston. For the last 14 years, he has also served as chairperson for his subdivision’s architectural control committee, which works to preserve the architectural aesthetic of mid-century residences.
Dana earned a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Houston in 1988. Prior to his career in architecture, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education in Industrial Arts from Northwest Missouri State University and served as an instructor in Pearland and Jersey Village.
